Gal Gadot hits the red carpet for The Runner: The Wonder Woman and Snow White star attended Thursday’s Los Angeles premiere of her new thriller The Runner: a London-based thriller that I’ve seen described as a cross between Speed and Mission: Impossible. Full UK and international release details are still to be confirmed. Reviews seem to be embargoed at present but expect them to start trickling out over the coming days.
China’s opera and screen world mourns Li Weikang: Away from Hollywood, Chinese Peking opera singer and actress Li Weikang has died aged 79. A respected figure who bridged traditional Chinese opera and film across a long career, her passing has been marked with tributes from China’s performing arts community over the last day.
A belated tribute to Andreina Yépez: Apologies to my Latin American readers that I am a few days late in reporting the death of Venezuelan actress and comedian Andreina Yépez. She died on the 25th aged just 51 after suffering an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer. Yépez began her entertainment career at just 14 on the long-running Venezuelan variety show El Show de Joselo, going on to build a substantial career in Latin American television and film.
